about

Music For Change’s latest release comes from Eora (Sydney) producer Myledo, who delivers five dancefloor-ready footwork and juke cuts with the Eat/Feel EP.

Opening track "Crack a Freshy" combines the warmth of an analogue synth lead with the chaotic mechanical sounds of chopped-up vocal samples, galloping kicks, snappy percussion, and rapid-fire breaks. "VJ and Kick (Booom)" channels classic Chicago footwork vibes through booming TR-808 kicks and snappy hi-hats, cheeky sampling, and wobbly chords. The drum-driven, sample-led vibes continue on "Dik So Shaw", which playfully switches between up-tempo and half-time rhythms. The final two tracks, "Just Have It" and "This One" take things into heady, lo-fi territory, experimenting with dusty aesthetics, warped sonics, and off-kilter drums.

As always, 100% of profits from sales will be donated to an organisation chosen by the artist. Sonya has selected The Food & Mood Centre at Deakin University, a world-leading, multi-disciplinary research centre that aims to understand the complex ways in which what we eat influences our brain, mood, and mental health. Their research initiatives aim to identify nutrition-based approaches to preventing and treating mental disorders that may improve brain and mental health both in Australia and globally.

"Eat/Feel" has received support from: Om Unit, A. Fruit, Ani Klang, INVT, Amy Kisnorbo, Itoa, Anna Morgan, FBI Radio, and 2SER Radio.
